About PACE Therapy
Let me tell you a little bit about PACE
At PACE Therapy, I provide a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their challenges and develop the skills needed to navigate life's complexities. My approach is rooted in the belief that a positive attitude towards change can transform lives and foster resilience.
At PACE Therapy, my mission is to deliver therapy that is genuinely responsive to your individual needs. I founded this practice to escape the rigid structures often found in larger organisations, where protocols can limit the ability to provide truly personalised care. Here, the focus is entirely on you. My practice offers a flexible, client-centred approach that allows us to tailor therapy specifically to what you want and need.
Confidentiality and Safeguarding
I am deeply committed to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality in my therapeutic practice. I understand the sensitive nature of the information you share within your sessions and recognise the importance of protecting your personal information. My confidentiality policy is designed to create a safe and trustworthy environment where you can freely discuss your thoughts and feelings in confidence.
Confidentiality
- Client Information Protection: All personal information and details shared during therapy sessions are kept strictly confidential and are securely stored in compliance with data protection regulations.
- Confidential Sessions: Everything shared within our sessions remains strictly confidential. The only exception to this is if disclosure is necessary for safeguarding reasons, such as protecting you or others from harm. Whenever possible, I will make every effort to inform you before any information is shared.
- Secure Record-Keeping: All client records are maintained securely, with restricted access and password protected entry. Session notes will be kept in note form consisting of key points discussed rather than a verbatim record of our session. You can request to have access to your session notes in accordance with relevant policies.
- Anonymity: In accordance with the BACP, I have regular supervision, anything shared in supervision remains anonymous. The purpose of supervision is to ensure quality of my practice and so there is no need to share any identifiable information.
- Informed Consent: I will share my confidentiality policy and any potential limits to confidentiality before starting therapy in our very first session together.
Commitment to Safeguarding
While I strive to keep your information private, there are specific situations where breaching confidentiality may be legally or ethically required:
- Risk of Harm: If there is a clear and imminent risk that you may harm yourself or others, I may need to contact appropriate authorities or individuals to ensure safety.
- Legal Requirements: If ordered by a court or required by law, I may need to disclose certain information.
- Child Protection: If I believe a child or vulnerable adult is at risk of harm or abuse, I am obligated to report this to the relevant authorities.
In all instances, when safe and appropriate to do so, I would always try to address this with you before taking any further action.
